Thanks for stopping by!

Me? I love kids, horses, all things pink (sparkly doesn't hurt, either), silliness, giggles-- and good books rock my world. Also, I would like to live in Disney World. The castle would do nicely.

My style? Fun, casual, often irreverent, always about you!

What you (yes, you!) need to know: I'm not like the other kids-- your portraits will be uniquely your own-- no backdrops (other than the ones nature graciously provides), props (unless you consider your family props-- and thank heavens they often do "prop" us up when we need them!), or canned poses here. Nope--each session is unique, and individual--just like you and yours!

Sometimes, no words are needed…

What is this odd, yellow orb in the sky?

Posted on February 20, 2010

Could it be…the SUN?? You have no idea how happy sunshine makes me. After the long, gray winter months I literally *crave* the sun…it just makes me smile! I’m so looking forward to the first bright yellow daffodil of spring, and can’t wait to see a blanket of yellow when they all bloom. I spotted a fat little robin last week, so I hope that means spring will be here sooner than later! Keep your fingers crossed, peeps!

Time for the Olympics!!

Posted on February 12, 2010

I am so excited about the Opening Ceremonies! I love the winter Olympics, in spite of my not liking winter much at all. The sports are so exciting, and the 1980 hockey team is what started my love affair with that sport.  I *do* believe in miracles!

ETA: I just read about the athlete who died after crashing during a training run. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Monday musings…

Posted on February 8, 2010

The Winter Olympics are rapidly approaching, so I’m clearing space on the DVR. I *love* the Olympics, especially the winter games! While I’m generally NOT a “winter” kind of girl, the winter sports are so much more exciting than the summer ones! Hockey, Super-G, speed skating, downhill slalom, halfpipe, moguls…curling. LOL! Seriously…curling? How does that fit??

I went a-googling to see what I could find out about the heart-pounding drama that is curling and found this (and it cracked me right up):

The precise beginnings of curling will always remain a mystery! However, it is not hard to imagine a man, hundreds or even thousands of years ago, who weighed a smooth, heavy rock in his hand, then watched and listened with fascination as he launched it along a glistening bed of ice on a frozen river. This “first curler” must have been intrigued by the way the rock moved and by the grumbling sound it made as it twisted and turned. Other people in the not so distant past have heard this same sound and have applied it as a nickname for the game of curling … it is often referred to as “the roaring game”.

Um, sure. No alcohol involved whatsoever…riiiight. :-)

Bad. To. The. Bone.

Posted on February 7, 2010

My husband grabbed this snapshot, and I loved his tough guy ‘tude so much I played with it and made tags for his mondo hockey bag.  The colors are vibrant and the tags are thick and sturdy. I think I may include these as add-on options to my collections. They’re fun AND functional!
