Baby, it’s HOT outside!
Posted on June 24, 2009
Gotta love life in the Midwest–one day it’s 60 and storming and a few days later it’s blistering hot! I don’t know about you, but I seriously lack the motivation to do much of anything not involving air conditioning and cold drinks.
But, since I do love summer, I’m offering a “Beat the Heat” incentive. Book a session for July or August and receive a $50 print credit with your paid order. (Normal studio policies apply) We can all use a little extra cash these days, so consider this my “economic stimulus” for my much appreciated clients!
Call or email me today for YOUR stimulus package!

Don’t you love all that gorgeous dark hair? Harrison was wide awake for our session–isn’t he the cutest? Lots more to come, but I had to share this wide awake little love.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!!
Posted on May 5, 2009
While I’ve always viewed May 5th as a reason (as if I need one) to have a couple margaritas with friends, I realized this morning when one of my boys asked me, I had no idea what Cinco de Mayo was really about! So, using the powers of your friend and mine, Google, here is what I found:
The holiday of Cinco De Mayo, The 5th Of May, commemorates the victory of the Mexican militia over the French army at The Battle Of Puebla in 1862. It is primarily a regional holiday celebrated in the Mexican state capital city of Puebla and throughout the state of Puebla, with some limited recognition in other parts of Mexico, and especially in U.S. cities with a significant Mexican population. It is not, as many people think, Mexico’s Independence Day, which is actually September 16.
Now that we’ve covered today’s history lesson, here’s how I’m celebrating Cinco de Mayo (other than the margaritas). Book a paid session TODAY and when you place your order I’ll include a spiral bound brag book of selected images for FREE. After all, we’re celebrating mothers this week, too, and what mom doesn’t love to show off her greatest works of art–her kids!

Stinkin’ April showers!
Posted on April 28, 2009
Yes, I’m whining. But after the utterly glorious weather we had over the weekend, gray rainy days are a serious downer. So, to brighten my day a bit, I thought I’d share a poem by Shel Silverstein, who seriously rocks. Ask me about my “Too Many Kids in this Tub” collage I did of my boys!
Rain
I opened my eyes
And looked up at the rain,
And it dripped in my head
And flowed into my brain,
And all that I hear as I lie in my bed
Is the slishity-slosh of the rain in my head.
I step very softly,
I walk very slow,
I can’t do a handstand–
I might overflow,
So pardon the wild crazy thing I just said–
I’m just not the same since there’s rain in my head.
